Money can’t buy you love, but it can sure help build great trails.

Your dollars really help. Volunteers need to be fed and watered to grow strong, and they are much more effective when we provide them with the tools that they need. Bridges need to be built, kiosks raised, signs need to be planted, and that takes money for materials.

The Motor City Mountain Biking Association operates as a chapter of the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA), and  is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Donations to MCMBA are generally tax deductible, and our tax identification number is 46-0940265.

Donate Online

You can donate to MCMBA online by credit card by clicking here:

100% of donations made using this link benefit the MCMBA and your local trails (minus a very small non-profit PayPal transaction fee). The ‘review’ form allows you to add special requests or a dedication for your donation – we will do our best to honor those requests. Checking the ‘recurring’ box for a monthly donation is one of the easiest ways to support our mission. It’s fast and convenient, and you can change the amount or cancel your gift at any time.

Employee Giving

Many employers have programs that you can use to help us build trails, including payroll deductions, donation matching (including memberships!) and dollar matching for volunteer hours. To get started, contact your human resources department.

Gifts of Securities

Donating stock can really leverage your investing prowess. Not only can you avoid paying the capital gains on the appreciated value, the fair market value may be deductible as a charitable contribution (subject to IRS rules).  The net result: you can have a larger impact on mountain biking because of the tax savings. Contact us for more information.

Memorials

Mountain biking becomes an essential part of life for many riders, and it’s only natural that family and friends look for ways to remember their loved ones enjoying the sport that brought so many smiles and treasured memories. Memorials can take many shapes, from benches and picnic areas in our favorite parks to supporting advocacy (the First Across the Finish Line volunteer awards began in 1997 as an anonymous memorial to Ed Berta, a volunteer who lost his life in a traffic accident on a trail day.) We’d be happy to work with you on ideas.

Bequests

Each of us wants to leave a mark on the future. Your bequest to the MCMBA will help ensure that great mountain biking experiences will be available for years to come.

Please consult with us and your financial and tax advisors to chose the best way to establish your bequest.
