Michigan Comprehensive Trails Plan – Call to Action!

The DNR has announced that a draft of the new Michigan Comprehensive Trails Plan is available online for public review and comment. Read the draft at: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/draft_mi_trail_plan_12-2012_406477_7.pdf and submit comments using the survey at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7YM69D2

This plan is 140 pages in length, but the MTB trail-specific content begins at page 97 and ends at page 103. The bulk of the document reflects the needs of the ORV, Snowmobile, and Equestrian trail users.

It would be great if each of our members clicked on this survey link and provided feedback to the Michigan Snowmobiles and Trails Advisory Council and DNR to let them know that we mountain bikers are out here in large numbers, that we spend money on travel and recreation in Michigan as well, and that we have more specific interests and needs than are described in this plan.

Thanks!

Take Action Today – Senate Bill Threatens MTB Trail Access!

Dear MCMBA Members and Supporters: A bill has been introduced to the Michigan Senate that could remove mountain bike access to trails designated for equestrian use.
