Mountain Bike Patrol Training, Sept 15th

We would like to invite anyone that is interested to join us for Mountain Bike Patrol training. For more information on the National Mountain Bike Patrol, check out the IMBA page here: http://www.imba.com/nmbp. If you are not sure if you want to join or not, this is free and you’re not required to commit to anything.

Who can join? Anyone can join as long as you can ride mountain bike trails, are willing to learn trail side bike repair, and are willing to get CPR & First Aid certified. We need more patrollers out there, so if you ride anyway, why not join up? It gives you a chance to help out as well as provide a service back to the parks that we all ride.

The training is September 15 starting at 11 AM at Maybury State Park. We will meet in the Day Camp for the classroom session, then ride the trail. I imagine we should be done in 2-3 hours.

Please park in the 8 mile lot, and ride in to the Day Camp. Take the paved path as if you were going to the MTB trail head, but before you get there turn left and head towards the fishing pond. Ride all the way back to signpost #9, turn left on to the dirt road and just beyond the volleyball net you will see the Day Camp. I will put a few signs up.

We will go over the IMBA powerpoint presentation plus a few local information points, then ride the trail with some live action scenarios to practice with.

    Rouge Kiosk – Thanks!

Thanks to the MCMBA and SCA volunteers who invested their time and talents to finish the map Kiosk at Rouge Park last Sunday. These kiosks provide a solid anchor for each of our chapter trailheads – a place for riders to meet and to learn about area events and the trail. They also represent a…
