National Mountain Bike Patrol training is scheduled

The next National Mountain Bike Patrol training is scheduled! Details below.

What is the National Mountain Bike Patrol?

A chapter of the National Mountain Bike Patrol is a volunteer mountain bike organization dedicated to promoting responsible riding and trail use on our public lands, providing assistance and education to trail users, and participating in this mission by riding our bikes. Our patrollers ride designated Township, City, County, State and U.S. Forest Service trails and provide simple, helpful assistance (such as giving directions to trail users, helping with minor mountain bike repairs, and educating riders about the rules of the trail). Patrollers report patrol activity via an easy web form after completing their rides.

Our Mission

The mission of the Mountain Bike Patrol boils down to:
• Assist in medical and mechanical emergencies
• Educate trail users of proper etiquette
• Inform land managers, land owners and trail users of trail conditions through monitoring efforts
• Work with land managers to maintain and/or gain trail access for mountain bikers
• Offer volunteer services at outdoor races and events

Who can join? Anyone can join if:
• You enjoy mountain biking
• You are willing to stop and assist
• You are prepared
• You want to get more involved in the sport
• You want to promote goodwill from mountain bikers

The training will prepare you for all of this, AND there are many benefits for you when you are a member of the NMBP!

Here are the details:

Location: Maybury State Park, Day Camp Building
Date: Saturday, April 25
Time: First aid class starts at 10 AM, NMBP training follows at 1 PM (or sooner), followed by a situational training ride. Sandwiches provided!

**Please let me know if you are planning on attending, and if you need the first aid training!

Alternate dates & locations:
April 18th — Shelby Township
May 16th — Brighton

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
