MILFORD BIKE FEST AND TRAIL CHALLENGE CONTINUES IN NEW FORMAT FOR 2020

Saturay, June 6 On Your Own While Maintaining Social Distance

From the Event Organizers: June 6th would have been our annual gathering of the Milford Bike Festival. While we cannot safely gather onto a crowded deck this year, two things are still true: bikes are not cancelled, and trails are not cancelled. In fact, trails are still very much in need of maintenance, as we have seen unprecedented traffic on the places we play these past few months! Therefore, in the spirit of the Milford Bike Festival, we want to encourage you all to still go out and ride on Saturday June 6th, on the trails that we consider home: Milford Trail, Highland, Island Lake, Proud Lake, and Hickory Glen. If you need a map to guide you, visit runsignup.com/Race/BikeFest/Page/Trails where you can find links (bottom of the page) to a few pre-mapped routes that you can upload onto your garmin, or print out for your guidance.

Consider riding Milford Trail before pipeline construction changes the landscape for good. Parking is available at the trailhead off of Peters Rd (Enter from Commerce Rd only), as well as throughout the village.

If your finances allow, consider a donation to the Motor City Mountain Biking Association (site.mcmba.org/index.php/get-involved/donate). Support our sponsors by grabbing some curbside takeout brews and/or food from Main Street Grill, Draught Horse, or Rivers Edge; enjoy coffee or ice cream or both from Proving Grounds; or get some trail snacks or repair staples from Cycletherapy or Hometown Bicycles. Most importantly, go ride your bike. Enjoy and support the landscape that allows us to stay healthy and happy.

Please be safe and courteous towards your fellow trail friends and maintain your distance. Let’s prove that it is entirely possible that resilience and vigilance can coexist with a fun and fulfilling day out on the trails!
