Hickory Glen Park Overview

Hickory Glen Park

This trail is approximately 6 miles of relatively tight, twisty singletrack that will test your bike handling skills, but is welcoming to riders of all skill levels. The park also contains approximately 1 mile of wider hiking/biking trail that the intersects the singletrack at multiple points, in addition to the Lakes Area Paved Path that bisects the park and runs from Dodge Park and the Commerce Township Library to Proud Lake State Recreation Area. The trailhead and kiosk is located off the paved path to the right of baseball diamond #1 (as you enter the park, continue straight; you’ll see the trailhead just past the diamond on the left). The intersections along the trail are numbered sequentially starting from the trailhead and each intersection is marked with orange and white arrows for the singletrack and with red and white intersection numbers. Additional posts with reflective orange and white arrows as well as yellow, non-reflective confidence marker arrows are placed between intersections. Various trail features have been added to test your skills; all features can be safety bypassed individually except for the entirety of the “Disney” Expert Loop at the Northeast end of the park (avoid the loop to avoid the features). A ~0.75 mile bonus loop is accessible off Glengary Rd across from Wolverine Lake; look for the signage after intersection #19. The park is open from dawn to dusk and the trails are closed to motorized vehicles and motor-operated cycles.
