MCMBA FUNdamentals Mountain Bike Skills Clinic

Our clinics are designed to be inclusive and are open to all genders. Whether you’re a beginner seeking confidence on the trails or an intermediate rider aiming to refine your techniques, this clinic is tailored to empower and elevate your mountain biking journey. We will group riders together by skill level as well as we are able.
Over the course of our session, we’ll delve into essential skills such as body positioning, braking techniques, navigating obstacles, and mastering cornering. Our clinics are designed to be inclusive and are open to all genders. We strongly recommend completion of a fundamentals clinic before taking this clinic tailored to empower and elevate your mountain biking journey. We will group riders together by skill level as well as we are able.
Over the course of our session, we’ll delve into essential skills such as ready positions, bike/body separation, trail manual, emergency braking, 1/4 front wheel punch, intermediate cornering, wheels lifts, bunny hop, level lifts, steep descents, berm cornering, drops, and jumping. Led by certified instructors, we prioritize a supportive and encouraging environment where you can push your limits, conquer challenges, and connect with fellow riders. Get ready to embrace the thrill of the trails, and unleash your full potential on two wheels!

We cordially invite you to join the MCMBA Board and Trail Coordinators at our Fall Member/Trail User Meeting. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest developments in our trail plans and events for 2025. We have many exciting initiatives in the works and several achievements this year to celebrate.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can further enhance our mountain biking community and trails.

Biketoberfest
Saturday, October 4th, 2025 – Northville, MI
Come celebrate the completion of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 Legacy Park trails with MCMBA and Northville Parks & Rec‘s Biketoberfest!
Meet at the Essential Services Complex from 10am – 4pm for food, music, photo ops, and group rides. The event is FREE but requires waiver registration.
Group rides are available every 1/2 of the hour (10:30am, 11:30am…), with a women lead no-drop group ride at 1pm.
FREE cider and donuts in the morning, lunch at noon, s’mores available in the afternoon. (first come first served).
Dress in your favorite Halloween costume and enjoy family-friendly activities, whether you bike or not!


Saturday, October 4th, 2025 – Milford, MI
Highland Reverse Ride
A Celebration of Highland MTB Trails will be held on October 5th, Group ride at 10:00 am with BBQ after.
This ride was formally known as The Carlos Ramirez Memorial ride, We will still be riding the trails in a reverse direction, ( backwards). The trails will be available to ride backwards from Sunrise to 4:30.
This is a chance to ride the trails backwards and hang out, ride with the volunteer’s that design, build, and maintain the trails.
It is appropriate that the Carlos ride that started about ten years ago should evolve into a celebration of volunteer advocacy


Annual Fall Social Fundraiser

The MCMBA is partnered with Supernatural Brewing to host “Dine & Donate” Benefit. This is a win for everyone You get great to enjoy great food and beer, support for a local business, and feel good knowing 15% of your bill will be donated to the local trails.


Global Fat Bike Day
Saturday, December 6th, 2025 – Badlands @ ILRA
Join us on December 6th for our annual GLOBAL FAT BIKE DAY 2025 group ride and tailgate party at Spring Mill Pond/Badlands (Island Lake Rec Area).
Bring your fat bike, plus bike or whatever you want to ride, just come and join in the fun.
Also bring your favorite post-ride dish to pass and favorite 6-pack to share, beer or soda. We will have coolers there to keep your sauce on ice.

Milford Bike Fest
Saturday, June 6, 2026 – Milford, MI
Come join us for a day of riding bikes around Milford’s well-connected trail system!
Did you know that 5 single track mountain bike trails are fully accessible from Downtown Milford? Join the Motor City Mountain Biking Association for the Milford Bike Fest and Trail Challenge as we showcase some of our favorite mountain bike trails, raise money for trail maintenance and youth cycling, and then celebrate by supporting local downtown establishments!


Tree Farm Relay
Saturday, July 25, 2026 – Novi, MI
Get ready to roll out the red carpet and hit the trails at the 21stannual Tree Farm Relay Event at Lakeshore Park in Novi – our biggest, boldest, most action-packed race yet!
Gather your team of four, channel your inner legends of the big screen, and prepare for a mountain bike relay filled with thrills, chills, and maybe even a few plot twists.
- Each team is cast with 4 supporting players, male, female, or coed actors
- Costumes encouraged – bonus points for style and star power
- 1 lap short feature races (sport) or two lap double features (advanced)

Northville Legacy Trail Day
We are planning a Legacy Park Trailday to clear debris, repair trail sections and install signage. We will likely work till early to mid afternoon. Feel free to pop in for however long you can spare. We will meet at the Wayne Ave. Trailhead at 9:00 AM. I would wear long sleeves and pants and bring gloves if you have them. I will have waivers to sign if you have not already done so.

Saturday, April 19th, 2025 – Hartland Twp, MI
Settlers Park Spring Trail Day
We will be having a Spring Trail day on April 19th to add some spice the Loop 2. We will be working on a couple of projects near the Catwalk and Sledding Hill area. We ask volunteers to bring shovels and rakes and other useful trail building tools. Gloves and DEET bug spray would also be helpful. There will be a waiver form for volunteers to sign. Thanks

Fillmore Park Trail Day
BE A PART OF MAKING AN AWESOME RIDING OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE IN LIV CO!
FILLMORE TRAIL DAY 2025
DATE: Sunday April 6th 2025
TIME: 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
MEETING LOCATION: Parking Lot of Fillmore Park. Arrive at 12:45 pm to check in with Neal Glazebrook.
Start to head into the woods at 1 PM after signing waivers and a short orientation and waiver signing.
PLEASE BRING: Rakes, Pruners, backpack or handheld blowers, weed whips, motorized pruners, shovels, axes, pick axes, bug & tick spray, your preferred PPE. We need 1 or 2 wheelbarrows for the rock collecting described below. All minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED: We are going to clear out the trail tread that was cut last year from winter debris of deadfall, leaves, debris, and undergrowth on the Upland Woods Loop. We will also be working on cutting access from Kellogg Road and scouting some of the farm field for future trail development. We will also start harvesting rocks for trail armoring before the growth fills in for the season.
